We'd like to give a big shoutout to James Outman, who went yard on Wednesday night to cash our +440 home run ticket. Let's keep the good times rolling with my three favorite HR prop bets for Thursday's MLB slate.
We took a shot on Austin Hays to crack a home run on Wednesday night, and although he didn't cash the ticket, the Baltimore Orioles outfielder recorded two hits in three at-bats, one RBI and one run scored. He's staring down another great matchup on Thursday night, so we're going right back to the well. In 18 career ABs against Boston Red Sox starter Chris Sale, Hays is batting .333 and slugging .833 with three home runs. This price is too good to pass up.
Thursday night's matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies is once again the best target for home run props. The friendly hitting conditions at Coors Field are creating a projected 29 percent boost to home runs, per Ballpark Pal, which is the highest mark on the slate by a wide margin. Rockies starter Chris Flexen has given up 12 home runs in 11 starts with Colorado, so let's fade him with Freddie Freeman. Freeman is batting .330 and slugging .546 against right-handed pitching this season, and he has the best HR price of the Dodgers' top sluggers.
Flexen has given up multiple home runs in seven starts this season, so this is a good time to double down at the friendliest hitter's park in MLB. Jason Heyward, like Freeman, has crushed right-handed pitching this season. The veteran has cracked 13 of his 15 home runs this year off righties, so this is well worth a sprinkle at +500.
