28-year-old’s Tottenham exit ‘fully expected’ amid interest from five clubs

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked to the move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has fallen down the order at the London club and he needs to leave in order to play regularly. He has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months as well and it remains to be seen whether he can secure a summer departure.

According to Tottenham insider Paul O Keefe, five clubs from Europe are keen on securing the services of the Denmark international and a summer exit is ‘fully expected’.

The 28-year-old midfielder has started just eight matches in the Premier League this season and a player of his quality needs to play more often. He was a key player for Tottenham under the previous manager Antonio Conte. However, he has failed to win over the trust of Ange Postecoglou.

It would be ideal for both parties to go their separate ways. The Denmark international will be able to play more often at another club and Tottenham will be able to recoup some money from his departure and invest it into the playing squad.

Tottenham need to replace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Tottenham will need to improve their squad during the summer transfer window and they should look to sign a quality central midfielder who can control the tempo of the game. It appears that Hojbjerg is too conservative for the Australian manager’s high-intensity attacking style of football.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can bring in someone who is more suitable to their playing style.
